Performing Windows 8 gestures, such as calling up the Charms bar, was quick and responsive. Multitouch gestures such as two-finger scroll and rotate and three-finger flick and swipe were just as seamless.
The discrete mouse buttons felt a little spongy, but performed their duties well. Heat During our heat test playing a full-screen Hulu video for 15 minutesthe GJX's touchpad measured 81 degrees Fahrenheit.
The space between the G and H keys was slightly warmer at 88 degrees. The underside of the laptop and the space directly above the fans blew 99 degrees. That's a few degrees higher than our degree comfort threshold. We also hit this rig with our temperature gun after playing "Bioshock Infinite" for 15 minutes.

In that test, the touchpad reached 75 degrees while the space between the G and H keys measured 82 degrees. The bottom of the notebook was a cool 85 degrees.
The hottest point of the ASUS ROG G750JS Broadcom WLAN was the right rear vent that measured 99 degrees. While that's a little hotter than we prefer, we were impressed with how quiet the GJX's fans were as we fought our way through the streets of Columbia.
The bulk of our test shots were oversaturated, giving our skin a yellowish tint. Two more USB 3. Some might prefer a Blu-ray player at this price, but we don't think it's a big omission.
During the 3DMark11 benchmark, the GJX notched 5, easily beating the 4, desktop replacement average. When we ran the "World of Warcraft" benchmark, the GJX notched fps at maximum settings, clearing the fps average. Both the Alienware 17 and the GT70 edged it out, scoring and fps.
This showing was enough to surpass the GT70's 70 fps, but the Alienware 17 came out on top with fps. When we cranked the settings to maximum, the G's frame rate dropped to a still-playable 37 fps. However, the GT70 managed to deliver 44 fps at the same settings.
The laptop nimbly streamed "Batman: The Alienware 17, which has Windows 7, booted in 35 seconds. We did note a bug that when gaming, the speakers would crackle just loud enough to notice and muting then unmuting the speakers via the Fn key got rid of the crackling until the ASUS ROG G750JS Broadcom WLAN reboot.

That tells us it's a software bug and not a hardware issue. Asus uses MaxxAudio with a variety of customizable settings, and we found the gaming setting the best for overall use.

Battery Life We don't expect much from big 17" gaming laptops when it comes to battery life. The machine has a removable 8 cell, mAh Lithium Ion battery, and that's not very large in terms of capacity or physical size, so we're surprised at the passable runtimes.
Wireless with our It typically held onto a Mbps connection at that range. Conclusion Go buy one, I did.
